Location: Veterans Memorial Park, Mint Hill NC
Nikon D600 w/70-200mm 2.8VR
While home this weekend I was looking around to see if there were any Crossfit Competitions going on so I could tryout some shooting techniques. Low and behold I came across the Batlle of Mint Hill which was located fairly close to me. When I pulled up to the park I couldn't believe how many cars were there. It was literally a huge festival going on. Once I found my way to the location of the competition I whipped out my D600 and got to shooting. Everyone there was so welcoming and thanked me for being there to take photos. I was even approached by the Town Event Manager who would like to work with me in the future for other events.
When I arrived they were starting a wall ball toes to bar, pull-ups and sandbag run AMRAP. After that it was followed by a 8min AMRAP of snatches...30 sec rest...then 8 min of walking lunges. This was a perfect event for me to put my 70-200mm to work. I was extremely pleased with the photos and will continue to edit and upload through the week. I have the Poker Run event this weekend so this shoot was great to get me in event mode. The link to the gallery is http://www.bawphoto.net/p597217787
