Location: Crossfit Steele Creek....  Charlotte, NC

Nikon D600 w/70-200mm 2.8

About a month ago I was fortunate enough to be requested to cover a few classes at Crossfit Steele Creek. I was already aware of the setup I would be using since I shot the SuperFit Games at the same location. Brian Strump, Owner of CFSC reached out to me a few weeks after I delivered the photos from SuperFit. He was looking for some new photos for marketing and his website. When I arrived, everyone was so welcoming just as I expected. The Crossfit Community is amazing. I also received some positive words on my work. I love hearing that people have been following me and checking out the galleries I post. This really keeps me motivated to keep shooting and staying creative.

After I set up, it wasn't too long after that the first class was starting. The WOD that day consisted on 20min to find 1 rep max clean followed by an AMRAP consisting of cleans and burpees. I was there to witness some strong athletes throwing around a lot of weight. VERY IMPRESSIVE!!!

Another thing I noticed was the great coaching that the athletes were receiving. Going through all the progressions of clean, to make sure all the athletes were on the same page. FYI... If your box doesnt coach and instruct going through progressions.... you may need to look for another box!!!!!!!!

I also witnessed a few PR's (Personal Record) and there is nothing like seeing that emotion from an athlete setting a new personal best. During the shoot I stayed with my 70-200mm the entire time because I knew I would need to be a good distance from the athletes while they were working on their lifts. I was extremely pleased with all the photos that I delivered to Brian. If you are in the Steele Creek area and looking for a true Crossfit Experienc, with great coaching and athletes then I highly recommend Crossfit Steele Creek. I have put their contact info below. Be sure to check them out. As always I enjoyed capturing athletes putting work in and cant wait till the next shoot I have.

I met Bruce at a SuperFit event that we hosted, and put him in contact with them for photos for the event. After seeing those, I wanted to have him back and take some of our members, and the gym.
He's got a great eye, and is very easy to deal with.
He gets the pictures back to you quickly, and makes our place look even better than I had expected!

Highly recommend him!
